Sunil Veetil spent more than three decades in banking, most of it on the side of the table that decides what institutional capital backs, and on what terms.

As a Senior Managing Director at HSBC and Regional Head of Sustainable Finance for Asia Pacific, he originated and led over US$45bn of financing across 19 markets, including China, India, Australia and ASEAN, with US$19bn for energy transition, much of it alongside multilateral and development finance institutions. Earlier, as head of trade and commodity finance for the Middle East, he managed a US$25bn balance sheet through COVID-19 and prior market cycles.

Sunil also led HSBC's digital payments, liquidity and transaction-banking franchises, in Middle East, South Korea and Indonesia, building cross-border payment and treasury platforms alongside corporates, fintechs and technology partners.

He began in credit at CRISIL, an S&P Global company, and in investment analysis at FedEx. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant.

He founded Perdura to bring that perspective to founders and boards, before they sit across from the institutions he spent a career inside.
